If you want to send scammers directly to voicemail on your iPhone, you must have iOS 13 or later installed. Some carriers allow you to detect unwanted calls and silence them, while others only allow you to display the caller’s business identification information when you call.

You can also mute unknown calls, which is a great option for sending any calls from someone you don’t know straight to voicemail.

If your phone operator offers it, you can activate it:

  • Silence unwanted calls – this option will automatically mute calls that your carrier deems spam or junk
  • business identification – this option will show the verified business id of the caller so you have a better idea if it is a spam call or someone you may know.

Silence unknown calls

  • Open your iPhone settings
  • Scroll down and tap Telephone
  • Play Silence unknown calls.
