Patriots officially rule out Mac Jones against Packers

After seeing his reaction to Sunday’s injury, it wouldn’t have surprised many if Mac Jones missed Sunday’s game, but now it’s official.

The New England Patriots announced Friday that their starting quarterback will not play Sunday against the Green Bay Packers.

Jones dismissed that notion, saying he was “day to day” but couldn’t support his ankle after the injury and was helped off the field.

The second-year quarterback was mostly silent during practice, not moving much other than keeping his arm loose.
