Charles Barkley takes a political jab when discussing the NBA All-Star voting process


Member of the NBA Hall of Fame and current analyst Charles Barkley he has a knack for stirring up controversy on TNT’s basketball coverage.

On Thursday, Barkley made the TNT team uncomfortable with a political joke as they discussed the NBA All-Star voting process

“We let the fans vote. Look what happened the last time you voted for president,” Barkley said.

After an awkward silence and the host telling Barkley that he would “really give it to me tonight”, Barkley clarified his statement.

“I don’t mean the old one,” Barkley said as he Shaquille O’Neal laughed. “I mean the guy before the old one. Sorry. Sorry, President Biden. I didn’t mean President Biden.”

Barkley’s clarification appeared to be targeting former President Trump.

NBA fans account for 50% of the votes for All-Star starters, while players and media account for 25% each.

The starters were announced Thursday night for the February 19 game in Salt Lake City.
