Biden says family ‘doesn’t have any’ 2024 conversation on Nantucket

President Biden said Saturday that his family “doesn’t have any” conversations about a possible 2024 presidential bid while he is staying in Nantucket, Massachusetts, over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, saying they are celebrating instead.

Reporters asked Biden how talks about a re-election bid were going as he and first lady Jill Biden crossed a street while vacationing on the island.

“We are not going to have any. We are celebrating,” the president replied.

Biden said during a post-election press conference earlier this month that he intends to run for re-election, but added that he will make a final decision early next year.

“I think everyone wants me to run, but we are going to have discussions about it,” Biden said. “I’m hoping that Jill and I have a little time to slip away for a week between Thanksgiving and Christmas, and I think it’ll be early next year when we make that judgment.”
