New normal? The Brown family is at a crossroads after cristina brown finally tells his sister wives about his separation from kody brown.
“Here’s the fun of plural marriage: A wife either works with you or works against you,” Kody, 53, said during the Sunday, Oct. 2 episode of sister wives.
The patriarch seemed to hit a wall after Christine, 50, decided to call it quits and move to Utah. While the former couple announced their split via Instagram in November 2021 after more than 25 years together, it wasn’t until Sunday’s episode of the TLC series that fans saw Christine tell her meri brown, janelle brown Y brown robin.
Before the intense group chat, Kody told the cameras that he has had ups and downs with all of his wives over the years.
“Janelle and I were teammates sometimes and sometimes we weren’t. Christine was usually pretty compliant, so we decided we didn’t want to move to Utah when Christine wanted to move to Utah. It’s like, ‘Well, I’m going to Utah.’ Christine suddenly became very independent,” she confessed.
The Wyoming native noted that he “always thought Meri was working pretty well with me” and that Robyn, 43, had a “goal” from day one to “be a part of this family and work together with our family.”
Kody confessed: “Throughout this experience, I got the sense that every wife has a breaking point where they are no longer going to tolerate the needs of the other wives. They’re going to do their thing.”
When Christine told the family she was leaving Kody and Arizona, there were mixed reactions. Kody, for his part, was frustrated when he realized that he would hardly see the couple’s youngest daughter, Truely, after the move.
“I have never understood his need to move. I don’t get it at all unless there’s some guy she wants to go out with in there,” she said in a confessional. “Or she wants to get away from me so my stink isn’t on her so she can date. I think the fact that I was so spread out…plural marriage just hasn’t worked for her in many, many years.”
Once Christine confirmed that this was the “best option” for her and her children, she and Kody share a son. Paedon23 and daughters aspyn27, Mykelti26, gwendlyntwenty, Ysabel19, and truly12 — Kody changed the conversation back to focus on himself.
He revealed that he was done sitting back and letting things go wrong within the family. Kody asked the rest of the wives to “come back to settle for the patriarchy,” saying he felt bitter that the family hadn’t turned out the way he “designed.”
The leader of the Brown family concluded: “I am disappointed in how I have achieved this. I felt that all your independence was more important [and] in that [thought process] in a way we lost some kind of community. I guess I’m sorry we failed.
