What emma slater Y Trevor Donovan‘s dancing with the stars journey continues, the duo is opening up to us weekly about their bond “based on trust”.
“We approach [each dance] Similarly, we approach it as a story and that really helps me when he starts explaining the dance to me in story form, that we’re telling a story,” said the 43-year-old actor. U.S and other reporters after the Monday, October 3 episode, noting that the two have good “communication” skills.
Donovan and Slater, 33, scored 27 out of 40 for their tango to Chris Cornell’s “You Know My Name” in the James Bond-themed episode.
“I’m so thankful that you come in every day and you don’t know exactly what I’m going to throw at you, but you trust me anyway,” the professional dancer said. “And I’ll always be there to give you the best advice, even if it’s like, ‘You know what? That movement is not for us. We’re not going to do that.’ Which I haven’t done yet, but I like to give him the truth and tell him the truth and criticize him where he needs it, and then strengthen him and encourage him where he needs it because that’s definitely a big part of it for him. Because you need to believe that you could do it. And it really can.”
“And then back to the trust thing,” Donovan added. “I know that he is not going to let me go and go out and do something bad, or good. She sets the bar very high and looks forward to it. And I appreciate that because she didn’t come here to do it halfway.”
While the couple scored higher during Elvis night on September 26, Derek Hough He called the 90210 light up the “dark horse” of the season during Monday’s episode.
“I love it. That’s my feeling as well because I went into this with no expectations, I just wanted to challenge myself to do it,” Donovan told reporters. “And I feel like things are coming together and I feel like I have a good shot.”
Slater agreed, adding that it’s “so easy” for her to be herself with Donovan.
“We have a very familiar and light chemistry. It’s something fun. It may come across as passion on the dance floor, but we’re just having fun,” she explained. “We have fun every day we rehearse even when she’s about to explode because I’m doing things wrong that I used to do right. But it’s the lightness and lightness of our friendship and stuff, I think, that really translates into the dance. So we’re 100 percent comfortable with each other.”
